Hello, in the beginning it was just me and my camera, with one lens shooting film slow and methodically, putting so much thought into every frame…20 years later, here I am, with three different camera bodies all over my body, for speed and accuracy, with many different lenses, batteries, memory cards to capture every and any given moment, because time is fleeting, and all we have is now.

I still shoot slow on my own time, and those slower paced gigs, involved with meticulous planning and excited executing, but during paid events the team comes out to play, because I‘ve only got so many eyes, arms, and body. Started with a second shooter, then video person, then second shooter for video person, then assistant for the shooters, so on and so forth. It is an honor being in charge of documenting life at someone’s special moment in time. I mean normal portraits and awesome headshots are cool too, don’t get me wrong, We just love capturing life whatever the reason, because life is reason enough.

So I’m Nelson, a Photographer/Editor, both still and motion, with over 20 years experience and 30 years experience with sound waves, listening, learning, creating, performing. I’ve always wanted to make Art, but then had to make a living, so this is my effort at combining the two. Ikigai: what you love, what you're good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. So hire me and my collective of artists just trying to live and record the beautiful moments in this shared journey thru life.
